Artist Statement:
The ocean’s shores are always alive with new colours and shapes to explore. In this seascape, I tried to capture the motion of the Salish Sea as it came upon the jeweled coast. During the fall afternoon, a golden glow lingered over the ocean for some time, which I was able to capture in brushstrokes of brilliant yellow, with touches of pink and light cobalt among the earth-toned hues I saw in the coastline. This was painted on Galiano Island, BC, Canada.
